Dr. Ruth Maas, CEO/Co-Founder
Dr. Ruth Maas is co-founder and CEO. Prior to founding Autodisplay Biotech, she was Group Leader at the Institute of Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemisty, Working Group Bioanalytik, at the Heinrich-Heine University in Dusseldorf. In 2000, she co-founded the start-up company Pharmacelsus GmbH in Saarbrücken and was Head of Cell- and Molecular Biology until 2005.
She received her PhD in microbiology from the University of Tubingen, Institute of Microbiology and Biotechnology and held a post doctoral position at the Saarland University Hospital, Institute of Human Genetics.
Prof. Dr. Joachim Jose, CSO/Co-Founder
Prof. Dr. Joachim Jose is co-founder and CSO. Besides his activities with Autodisplay Biotech, he is Chair and Full Professor in Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry at the Westfälische Wilhelms-University Munster. Previously, he was Professor for Bioanalytics from 2004-2011 and Head of the Institute of Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry from 2008-2011 at the Heinrich-Heine University in Dusseldorf. In 2000, he co-founded the start-up company Pharmacelcus GmbH which is active in the area of pharmacological, biological and bioanalytical test services in vitro and in vivo.
He received his PhD in microbiology from the Saarland University and held a post doctoral position at the Max Planck Institute for Infection Biology at Tubingen and Berlin. He earned his habilitation in pharmaceutical and medicinal chemistry.
In the area of autodisplay technology, he has published numerous articles and received various awards. He is a founding member of the Center of Bioinformatics (CBI) at the Saarland University.
Dr. Gunter Festel, CFO and Head of Business Development/
Co-Founder
Dr. Gunter Festel is co-founder and responsible for business development. Besides his activities with Autodisplay Biotech, he is founder and CEO of the advisory and investment firm FESTEL CAPITAL. Prior to that, he was a member of the management team and head of the consulting business for the chemical and healthcare industry with Arthur D. Little in Zurich and a consultant with McKinsey. He started his career with Bayer, where he held various management positions in R&D and marketing.
Gunter Festel holds a MA and PhD in chemistry, a BA in business administration, a MA in economics, a PhD in management & economics and an Executive Master of Corporate Finance. At the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich he heads a scientific working group focused on start-ups/spin-offs. On this topic he gives lectures at ETH Zurich and the National University of Singapore.
He is a member of various advisory boards, consultant to the OECD and reviewer for the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research.
